Matthew Stuart McAfee

Mr. McAfee was born in Patuxent River, Maryland.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Duke University and his Juris Doctorate degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida.  Mr. McAfee was a member of the University of Florida Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.  Mr. McAfee was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and is currently rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell.  Mr. McAfee focuses on real estate law and banking law.

Following law school, Mr. McAfee spent nine years as an attorney in the real estate division of Foley & Lardner LLP, first as an associate and then as a partner.  While with Foley & Lardner, Mr. McAfee’s practice included representing buyers and sellers in commercial and residential real estate transactions.  In April of 2003, Mr. McAfee joined the Firm as a partner.

Mr. McAfee is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, has served as the president of the Tree Hill Nature Center, a member of the Board of Directors of the Tree Hill Nature Center, a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, a volunteer for HabiJax (the Jacksonville chapter of Habitat for Humanity), a volunteer for the Jacksonville Humane Society and a member of the 200 Club of Jacksonville.  Mr. McAfee has also participated in the Leadership Jacksonville program and is a member of the Class of 2006.
