

Mrs. Matheson was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from James Madison University and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Virginia. Mrs. Matheson was a member of the University of Virginia Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Mrs. Matheson was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000. In 2000, Mrs. Matheson served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable R. Lanier Anderson, III, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In 2002, Mrs. Matheson served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. Corrigan, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
